theCHIVE is hiring an iOS and Android Mobile Developer

JOB POST DATE: 11/9/12  // THE iOS POSITION HAS BEEN FILLEDAND THE ANDROID POSITION IS STILL OPEN

Job Description: theCHIVE is hiring for TWO positions: an in-house iOS and Android Mobile Developer to maintain, manage and continually develop theCHIVE app (and soon to be Chivery and Tapiture apps as well). To date, we have been outsourcing all mobile development and while our 3rd party devs have done an excellent job so far, the scope of our projects and workload has gotten too large to do out of house.  You will need to pick up the current code base, understand it and dominate it.  You must love mobile and firmly believe that it is the future of personal computing and media consumption. With over 1,000,000 installs of theCHIVE iOS and Android apps combined, we need to step up our apps’ functionality and continually add bells and whistles to keep our awesome community happy. THIS POSTING IS FOR TWO SEPARATE POSITIONS, iOS and ANDROID -not one position with both sets of experience, unless you are that big of a badass, we will pay you a lot of money.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience with Objective-C/iOS  or Java/Android platform
  • Excellent knowledge of the iOS/Android SDK (Foundation, UIKit, Core Data, etc)
  • Extensive experience with implementing ad serving or ad network SDKs, especially Mopub
  • Knowledge of Facebook mobile SDK and open graph
  • Portfolio of apps that you’ve worked on that are currently in the App Store.  It’s a plus if you’ve developed and released apps on your own.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with MySQL or other relational databases
  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science
  • Must be a regular Chiver
  • If you don’t understand these abbreviations, then don’t apply:  KCCO, DAR, FLBP
  • Must love dogs
Compensation and benefits:
  • Pay is salary based on experience and talent
  • 12 days paid vacation NOT including taking the week off from Christmas to New Years and a mandatory 3 day paid vacation in August
  • Choice of Aetna or Kaiser Health Insurance, Dental and Vision plan included
  • 401K option
  • Work in the heart of silicon beach aka Venice Beach… on the beach.
  • Fully stocked beer fridge, keg and bourbon bar.

If you are serious about the job, please send your resume to workatthechive[at]gmail[dot]com with subject line: iOS or Android Mobile Developer.
Please include GitHub, Stack Overflow, and Twitter accounts in your resume if available.
